Porcelain painting is unique in that the techniques you can use are endless such as oils to milk or powdered paints to sand. The pieces are fired in kilns after each application. Some are fired only 3 or 4 times whilst others up to 15 times depending on the method used. Decals are not allowed. I started Porcelain painting around 15 years ago when I was very fortunate to have an excellent teacher called Joyce Challenger. I have learned from teachers from all over the world including England and Japan but I am not a traditional porcelain painter in that I like to push the boundaries and not just paint flowers, lovely though they are. I am a member of Australian Porcelain Art Teachers and the Australian Porcelain Painters Guild.

Having spent the last 35 years riding waves much of his work is influenced by the ocean, dolphins, whales and isolated coastal themes. Born and raised in the mallee country and having a love for the Nullabour environment has also influenced many of his rustic rural scenes. Geoff is also accomplished with an airbrush which has resulted in many unique surfboard designs.

Dan Paris was raised in Esperance surrounded by pristine coastline and untouched bushland, he developed an appreciation for our natural environment and a passion for landscape photography. Over the years he has pursued both of these, devoting most of his time to exploring the wilderness with his camera. Dynamic, sweeping landscapes with strong foregrounds, painted skies and saturated colours are all hallmarks of Dan’s beautiful images. In 2002 he embarked on a photographic expedition around Australia in search of remote locations yet to be captured on film. This journey has continued, evolving into a life long commitment. Framed and unframed prints can be purchased at Esperance Community Arts Gallery. Dan's work is also displayed in various galleries throughout Western Australia or available by visiting www.danparis.com.au

She paints in oils and finds painting realistically especially thrilling and enjoys the rewarding endeavour of fusing the external world into a beautiful artwork. Wedding commission work has become very popular. Julie is happy to capture your memories with an original artwork. All you need is a photo.
